The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) will hold its renowned International Apparel and Footwear Compliance Conference for the first time in Guatemala, marking the official launch of its Western Hemisphere Compliance Forum. An event with comprehensive compliance presentations and discussions.
What is AAFA?
The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) is the most influential voice of the global apparel and footwear industry. It represents more than 1,100 globally recognized brands, including Ralph Lauren, PVH (Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger), Kate Spade, Lululemon, Nautica, Abercrombie & Fitch, Lucky Brand, BELLA+CANVAS, Aeropostale, JCPenney, among many others.
AAFA advocates for the industry's interests in public policy, international trade, regulation, sustainability, brand protection and responsible sourcing. Its U.S. members represent more than 3.6 million workers and generate more than $523 billion in annual sales.
Why is it important for Guatemala?
- Previously, this event was held in Vietnam, one of the main supply centers for the US.
- Due to recent geopolitical and trade developments, AAFA is looking to diversify its supply chains and strengthen its relationship with the Western Hemisphere.
- Guatemala and Central America have the opportunity today to build the same relationship with the U.S. that Asia has developed over the past 30 years.
- Participating in this event allows Guatemalan companies:
- Connect directly with the most influential global brands.
- Understand first-hand the regulations, risks and opportunities that guide sourcing decisions.
- Position the country as a reliable strategic partner in the U.S. supply chain.
Who is it aimed at?
Designed for owners and managers of apparel, textile and footwear factories, chemical suppliers, as well as compliance executives, and other companies that are part of the supply chain in Central America.
To participate in this AAFA event is not just to attend a conference, but to enter the network where global sourcing decisions are made. It is an opportunity for Guatemala to show that it can be the next great sourcing hub for the United States in the Western Hemisphere.
