In order to promote competitiveness and modernization of the sector through highly qualified labor, VESTEX works hand in hand with training institutions in Guatemala to train through seminars, diploma courses and careers that cover areas of innovation and development for the Apparel and Textile Industry.

Activities

Through strategic alliances, we seek to develop knowledge at the operational-technical level on spinning, weaving, industrial tailoring, finishing, among others. The objective is also to create training, education, research and development activities for middle and senior management, which will benefit all those involved in the industrial approach to the textile and apparel industry in Guatemala.

In order to strengthen the textile industry in Guatemala, VESTEX, through the Center for Innovation and Development of the Textile Industry (CIDITex), has established a Framework Agreement with the Universidad del Istmo (UNIS) and the Kinal Foundation. The purpose of this agreement is to develop training, education, research, and development activities for the benefit of all stakeholders involved in the textile and apparel sector.

CIDITex focuses on three key areas:

Textile education from operational to managerial levels

Increased productivity and profitability

Promoting environmental sustainability

In addition, it addresses topics such as:

Technology

Automation

Quality assurance in products and services

Impact of development on employees

Programs and projects oriented to innovation and development

Master's Degree in Textile Engineering

As a strengthening of the alliance with the Technical Institute of Training and Productivity (INTECAP), VESTEX supports with its technical knowledge for the creation of new specialties in the clothing and textile industry.

INTECAP DIA

Through different programs INTECAP seeks to technify people who wish to join the productive cluster of the industry, promoting certifications aimed at operators who already have outstanding knowledge and the expansion of the range of training offerings for higher technical careers.

INTECAP currently has technical careers, free courses and physical workshops focused on the clothing and textile sector, including a clothing design workshop, textile workshop, electrical workshop, electronics for industrial clothing machinery and production management workshop, covering the areas of clothing, fabric projection, electrical engineering and administrative production.
